Woah, this one’s more psychedelic and colorful. The dot pattern is colorful, and while mainly showing a pattern of red and blue is also filled with other smaller amounts of colors that break up the overall shape of the squares, not quite making them solid.
The first thing I thought of while looking at this piece was my old Lite Brite toy from when I was little. The colors are almost trippy. I also see the smaller square in the middle.
I was more drawn to this piece because of how colorful it was. When I look at it it reminds me of the colors I see when I close my eyes. In my eyes it’s an optical illusion. Just like when I close my eyes, I am looking for something.
When I see this artwork, the first thought that comes into mind is a photograph. Seeing it from a scientific point of view, it makes me think of the megapixels and the spectrum of light and color that pass through when a picture is taken. These colors are part of a tiny process that happens every time a picture is taken making it even more interesting because people never really think about the small processes that happen within each larger picture.
